New Hospital Quality Data Posted

New Oregon hospital data from the Hospital Compare patient safety measures data set has been added to our website.  In addition to updating the existing categories, patients being treated for a heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, asthma (children only) or patients having surgery, we have added data for serious complications, death for certain conditions, other complications or death, and hospital acquired infections.

This data, by hospital, shows whether or not hospitals provide some of the care that is recommended for patients in these core areas.  Data is collected by the US Centers from Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) and made available for the public.  Keep in mind many of the datasets are only up  through June 2010.  Hospital data is also measured against state and national averages.

To access the Hospital Quality Indicators data set, go to http://www.orhospitalquality.org/index.php  — Simply sort by columns or click a hospital name for a specific profile report.
